Leading Through Experience: Advancing Technical Rescue Training
I have spent over twenty-five years in the fire service, building my career around technical rescue, leadership, and training. Throughout that time, I’ve had the opportunity to respond to a wide range of complex incidents in which strong decision-making, teamwork, and composure under pressure are critical.
Technical rescue has been the foundation of my work, and I’ve been fortunate to gain experience across multiple disciplines in high-risk environments. Those experiences have shaped how I approach both operations and leadership, always focusing on preparation, accountability, and trust within the team.
In addition to my operational role, I’ve dedicated a significant part of my career to teaching. I’ve instructed at both local academy and international levels, working with firefighters and rescue professionals from different backgrounds and experience levels. I take pride in sharing practical, real-world knowledge that helps others perform confidently and safely in the field.
I am also a proud recipient of the Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Rescue Specialist Certification through Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service. This certification represents not just advanced training, but a continued commitment to maintaining the highest standards in technical rescue.
I take pride in serving the fire service community and remain committed to developing both my own skills and the capabilities of those I work alongside.
